Social Bookmarking Bar

What Is It?

Social bookmarking is an activity performed over a computer network that allows users to save and categorize a personal collection of bookmarks and share them with others. Users may also take bookmarks saved by others and add them to their own collection, as well as to subscribe to the lists of others. It’s a tool for personal knowledge management. Wikipedia.org

PA-WebsiteDesign offers a small Javascript you can add to your blog or web site which helps people add your site or content to their “social bookmarks.” The more links to your content, the more traffic and buzz you’ll have. The script supports the top eight social bookmarking sites, four layouts, two linking methods, and can run in single and multi mode.

Integration

The Social Bookmarking Bar is added to your web site by uploading a very small folder (19kb) to the root directory of your web site. Then, javascript code is added to the page on which you would like the bar to appear. You can choose to have the social bookmarking sites open in the same window, or a pop-up window. You can also choose to include/exclude whichever sites you wish. All colors and fonts are also customizable.

Requirements

In order to view the social bookmarking bar, javascript must be enabled on your user’s browser.
The Social Bookmarking Bar can be added to pages of type: HTML, PHP, ASP, CFM, and most others.
